The Sunshine Blogger Award [Take 2&3]

Writing two posts in two…time and space management lvl 100

So two absolutely amazing people: Eli @AceReader and Alexandra @Reading By Starlight (I adore your blog name btw) nominated me for The Sunshine Blogger Award. Thank you so so much for the nomination! Make sure you go and show their blogs some love because they totally deserve it.

And I’m so sorry it took me so long to write this post and that I have to mix two awards in one post. Umm… love you.

Now, this will be a long journey so, grab a glass of water and some gummy bears and…

Let’s get into it!

  • Nominate 11 new blogs we all know that is not gonna happen to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
  • List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or on your blog.

Eli’s Questions:

  1. Are you a fan of reality TV?

Not really. It’s just too much over the top drama for me. Sometimes it’s really fun and I watch something for entertainment but usually, that kind of drama makes me too anxious and uncomfortable.

  1. Have you ever read a book where a character has the same name as you?

Well, Daria is not a very common name in America tho I know it is in Russia and Italy so I don’t usually see characters’ names, Daria.

But I remember I was reading The Devouring Gray by Christine Lynn Herman and the main character’s aunt was named Daria. I felt pretty good but ended up reading only like two chapters of that book because I didn’t like the narrator’s voice for the audiobook.

  1. What meal could you happily eat forever?

Oooh, that’s a hard one. If we talk food – like an actual meal that could sustain you – then probably pizza. I just really like pizza.

But if we’re talking about personal pleasure and sweets, cheesecake wins everything! I truly, undoubtedly love cheesecake.

  1. Do you ever procrastinate reading?

All the freaking time! Especially when I’m in a reading slump but honestly all the time. Am I proud of it? No. Do I still do it? Yes. Cuz I’m a big procrastinator and basically a sloth.

  1. What fictional character would you die for?

Harry, Ron Hermione. I would not even blink. They’re way too precious and they mean a lot to so many people, I could never let them die.

Also, Nico DiAngelo from Heroes of Olympus. For some reason, I feel like he’s my child and he has suffered enough. I just want to protect that little ball of darkness.

  1. What’s your current and/or all-time favorite TV show?

I literally have no idea what’s my favorite TV show. No idea.

But I know my current favorite is Elite. I’m currently watching season 3 and it’s a rollercoaster of emotions and I can’t hate anybody in that show! How is that even possible?!?

  1. Are you enjoying the book(s) you are currently reading?

Ooo, yes I think I do. At the point I’m writing this I am listening to the audiobook for The Female of The Species by Mindy McGinnis. I’m not very far into it but I’m really enjoying it.

And I’m currently reading a self-development book by Dale Carnegie which is super easy too read but very…helpful, I guess.

  1. What was the last movie you saw at the cinema? Did you enjoy it?

The Kitchen. Whoa, I haven’t seen a movie at the cinema last summer. Holy crap, I should go there more often not now tho, not now.

Anyways, I actually enjoyed The Kitchen. It had really good female empowerment themes and it was action-packed and suspenseful.

  1. Who was the best teacher you ever had?

My Romanian teachers from middle school (sorry to all my other teachers, I love you guys too I mean, most of you, I don’t love the bitches). I can’t choose between the two of them because they were both beautiful and powerful women that inspired me and shaped me into the person I am today.

The first really saw something in me and made me realize how much I love to write. She encouraged me to write more and put my work into the world and really made me fall in love with her class.

And the second one, we just had this mutual respect and understanding. She taught me to brave and outspoken and she trusted me so much. She pushed me to become the best that I could be and I’ll be forever thankful to her.

(Also, shout out to my middle school Physics teacher. You did great man!)

  1. Favorite gift you’ve ever received?

Honestly all the Christmas gifts I got from my friends. They’re just special. They show how much they know me and care about me and I think it’s just really cute.

  1. What are you planning to read next?

I’m so glad you asked.

I’m going to pick up Spin The Down by Elizabeth Lim and I’m so freaking excited. This book sounds fascinating and I would’ve started it today but my mind was like you need a break, girl! But tomorrow I’ll start it for sure and I can’t wait!!!

Alexandra’s Questions:

  1. What is your favorite Sarah J Maas book and what makes it your favorite?

I…I have never read a Sarah J Maas book. In my entire life. But I do have Throne of Glass on my shelf and I’m gonna read it this year and see if I love it or hate it – because that seems like the only way with Sarah J Maas books.

  1. Who is your favorite bookish sidekick?

To be a basic bitch and answer with Ron Weasley and or to not be a basic bitch…

That is the question

Actually, there is no question. Ron is one of my favorite characters ever and I love him to death and beyond so…

  1. Create a quick, five song playlist for any book.

I’m just gonna do it for Loveboat, Taipei cuz that’s the first one that came into my mind.

  • Youngblood by 5SOS
  • Young Forever by BTS
  • One Of The Drunks by Panic! At The Disco
  • DANCE DANCE by DAY6
  • Circles by Post Malone

The book just gives me a feeling of youth and teenage dreams and just of fun and rebellion. And that’s the kind of vibe I’m getting from these songs.

  1. Name a book and series that you think is criminally underrated.

The Feverwake duology by Victoria Lee. I read the first book in this duology, The Fever King, last year and it still hasn’t left me. It’s so freaking good but I barely see any people mention it. And for sure no big bookish influencers. Read it, people! Please!

  1. Who’s your favorite superhero and why?

Doctor Who. First of all, I’m a sucker for anything Marvel and second of all he’s the most selfless man in existence. Plus… magic powers! I feel like my answer should have a bit more emotion and attachment to it but that’s it.

  1. Where is your dream holiday destination?

Oh my god. Seriously, no idea. I love the idea of traveling and I want to see the world. But choosing only one place?! Is that even possible?? Maybe Thailand. I don’t know, there’s just something very attractive about the country. Or maybe one of the Nordic countries cuz I’m obsessed with the northern lights. Jeez, this is hard.

(I would’ve also Melbourne too but then I realized that if I get there, that’s on holiday. That’s a permanent location.)

  1. You’re stranded on a deserted island and you have five characters with you. Who are they?

Oh…good question.

Annabeth Chase (Percy Jackson and The Olympians)because we need a smart person

Kelsier (The Final Empire)because we need a crazy person in charge and I also feel like he’d be great company

Ham (The Final Empire)we also need muscles

Legolas (The Lord of The Rings) because we need someone to hunt for food and I also really like him

April May (An Absolutely Remarkable Thing)because I need someone funny to make me laugh and relax

  1. Tea or coffee?

I mean, I love both but if I could drink just one of the two for the rest of my life, then tea.

  1. What’s your favorite holiday destination and why?

The seaside. I’ve been going to the seaside with my parents for as long as I can remember and ut just screams summer holiday. That’s the most summer thing I know. And I love water and the beach and the nights out and the salty air… it’s just really beautiful.

  1. If you could save one character from their death in any Harry Potter book who would you choose and why?

Only one?? Really? I want to save so many characters. J.K. Rowling did us dirty.

But I’ll have to choose Fred. His death affected me the most and it was so incredibly unfair and I’m still not over it. He didn’t deserve that shit and he’s still alive in my heart.

  1. What are you currently binging on Disney+?

I don’t have Disney+. Does it have good shows? Should I give it a try?

picsart_11-27-08-730514898.png

I Nominate:

Aria @Book Nook Bits

Lori @The Reading Fairy

Lauren @Lala’s Book Reviews

Caitlin @Caitlin Althea

Keira @Headphones & Hyperboles

@Book Princess Reviews

picsart_11-27-08-730514898.png

My Questions:

  1. What’s your favorite dessert?
  2. Do you have Tik Tok? cuz my friends convinced me to download it and now I’m a lost cause lmao
  3. What TV show are you currently binging?
  4. Who is your favorite female character?
  5. What’s a song from your playlist that goes perfectly with a book?
  6. Are you a productivity guru or a procrastinator?
  7. What do you do when you don’t want to do anything?
  8. Do you watch booktube? Who’s your favorite boktuber?
  9. What’s a classic that you think it’s still relevant today?
  10. What’s the most beautiful book cover you own? tough question, I know
  11. What’s a place you really really want to visit in your lifetime?

  1. Yes to literally everything in this post! Yes to cheesecake being the best thing ever, yes to dying without thinking for Nico di Angelo. And I’m really glad you’re liking Elite. I have to hurry up and finish season 3 because my class groupchat is overflowing with spoilers! Love your answers!!

  2. This was so much fun to read!! Kell is absolutely crazy and awesome, and I’d probably want him too (just not the ending part you know?) I’ve seen The Fever King around and I want to check it out, but like you, I’m such a procrastinator, and I haven’t done so yet lol. I hope you enjoy Spin the Dawn!! And once upon a time, I would have said I would pizza all day every day, but after having pizza for breakfast, lunch, and dinner 3 days in a row, I realized I don’t love pizza enough to eat it for forever 😂😂😂😂🤦🏽‍♀️

    Great post!!

    • Do not remind me of the ending in The Final Empire. I’m still mad at Kell for being such a brilliant, manipulative fool… And I think that, if we think practically, I could never eat just one meal for the rest of my life. I would get so bored of it.
I’m happy you enjoyed the post! Take care of yourself!🤗

  3. Thanks so much for nominating me!!!

(Procrastination is my first, last and middle name at this point, so I very much relate there hehe.)
When you give ToG a shot… keep in mind that people tend to either prefer the first two or the ones after that, and personally I think it gets better as the books go on! The first one is still good though!

  4. Thank youf ro the tag! I enjoyed reading your answers. 🙂 I finally broke down with Throne of Glass and ended up reading it to put it in the test – and I ended up not feeling much of anything? I didn’t know that was an option? I thought I would either be in love or hate as well, haha. Annabeth Chase would certainly be a perfect person to have on an island – she would certainly make the best of it and get you off it. Thank you again for the tag, and great post! 🙂

  5. thank you for nominating me!! I can’t wait to answer your questions 🥺🥺 THE FEVER KING!! i love it so much, and I’m so excited to read the sequel! Also, I’d totally have Kell with me on a deserted island as well. He’s become one of my fave characters, honestly. I love how optimistic and good he is. One of the best bookish mentors, honestly ❤
(also, i'd totally save fred too! george did not deserve that pain 😭)

I also CANNOT WAIT to read The Electric Heir!!! I was planning to buy the book as soon as it cMe out and binge the whole series but with everything that’s going on I don’t really want to order stuff. But my fingers are itching to get my hands on it.
I don’t know how Kell did it, but he really made his way into my heart. He’s one of my favorite characters as well. He’s funny and witty and selfless and just incredible overall.
